Travel Tips
Make sure you have a valid passport (visas not required unless you are staying longer than 90 days). In case your wallet is lost or stolen, be sure to make a copy of your passport and credit cards, and either pack them in a separate bag or leave the copy with someone who can fax them to you if needed.
If your tour includes any of the magnificent churches or cathedrals, it is customary to wear appropriate clothing for these venues: generally no shorts or sleeveless shirts/tops.
Be sure to check with your tour guide about the type of electrical outlets available and appropriate conversion kits for your electrical needs. Conversion kits are often available at the front desk of the hotels, but it is recommended to purchase one before you depart for Italy.
Internet cafes are available all over Switzerland.
Check with your cell phone provider before departure to determine the requirements to make cell phones/texting function in Switzerland.
There are four national languages in Switzerland German, French, Italian and Rumantsch; learning a few words in any one of the languages will make the trip easier.
